Many Americans know that America today is on a wrong path. Americans believe we must preserve what is left of it. They want to think that America’s original intention was to serve the people and get rid of immoral and tyrannical forms of rule. Americans get emotional seeing images and reenactments of early colonial America, especially that of George Washington crossing the Delaware in 1776. It’s very difficult for Americans (especially white Americans), whose roots have been established in this country for more than a century to go against the current dogma. They want to believe that the American experiment was uniquely positive for humanity. They want to believe in the good story and in the good fight.
Many believe that we’ve now lost our ways and that the Founding Fathers must be rolling over in their graves at what has happened to this once great country. I digress. I am one of the few to believe otherwise. And I don’t believe the Founding Fathers are rolling over in their graves, like the neocon media personalities keep telling you.
